Dr. Lalit Singh

Dr Lalit Singh is currently the Director, Content and Product Strategy for Elsevier Health for Emerging markets. Lalit has been associated with Elsevier since year 2007, and over the years has held multiple roles in content and strategy for Elsevier Health business. In his current role, Lalit oversees strategy for the education and research businesses for Elsevier in emerging markets, including South Asia, South East Asia, Middle East and Africa. As part of this role, Lalit is responsible for envisioning and executing the regional product strategies by combining Elsevier’s global content, products and workflows with local content in order to meet the requirements of students, faculties and researchers in the emerging world. In the past Lalit has played an instrumental role in setting up and running the local research (journals) business for Elsevier in South and South East Asia regions. Lalit is a General Surgeon by training and has over 10 years of clinical experience, which ranges from community base primary care setup to tertiary level super specialty hospital. Lalit is an “American College of Surgeons” certified Advanced Trauma Care (ATLS) provider and in his last role as a clinician he worked at the JPN Apex Trauma Center at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Lalit also has a full time MBA degree from the prestigious National University of Singapore. Lalit has spoken and written extensively about quality of medical education, problem based learning in medicine, standardization of clinical care using evidence based guidelines, innovative financing models for healthcare, patient centric healthcare and accreditation of hospitals in India and South East Asia. Lalit is particularly interested in application of technology in education and research and is passionate about promotion of evidence based medicine and preventive healthcare using IT enabled public education.
