Mr. Sushil Kumar did his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications in 1987 and Master of Technology in Computer Science in 1988 from University of Roorkee (presently known as Indian Institutes of Technology Roorkee). He is from 1987 batch of Indian Telecommunication services and joined Department of Telecommunications in February 1989.
He has worked in planning, project implementation & operations of fixed, mobile and optical fiber networks and switches, and also as the head of a number of business units in DoT / BSNL for around 22 years.
Since July 2013, he is working as Deputy Director General in M2M (Machine to Machine) / IoT (Internet of Things) domain in Telecommunication Engineering Centre. He chairs National working Group (NWG) -20 to coordinate ITU-T SG-20. He has participated in the meetings of International Telecom Union (ITU) on IoT and its applications in Smart cities, held in Singapore and Geneva, He has also participated in more than 20 National conferences as a speaker.
